Two Urgent Updates from Two different bands

Hey guys! I know that times are tough right now, but I also know that God calls us to help those who are in his ministry. I have two messages, the first from Jason of High Flight Society, and the second from   of Weaver at the Loom. Please read them and pray about giving to their need.

High Flight Society

Alright, we aren’t gonna dance around this. We need a new van BAAAD!!! Our van is creepin on up in mileage and slowly falling apart. We break down often these days, which leads to money for repairs, late for shows, etc. We have some tours coming up in a couple months that will be taking us all the way out to California and back, and Im not sure that our van can make it.

Also, we don’t have anywhere near the money to get even a cheap used van. So, we need you guys’ help! In the past our fans have been very supportive and pretty much the coolest people ever, and we know we can count on you guys now. :) We aren’t asking for you to donate a million dollars or anything. We only ask that you give what you can (if you can), don’t feel any obligation. Any amount will help us. From 50 cents to 1000 dollars!

We are conversing what we can do to give back to the people who do give any larger amounts. Dunno what that will be yet but we will for sure do something. I’ll have more on that soon!

All you have to do is copy and paste the link below and follow the directions to help us out! You can use your own paypal account OR a credit/debit card to donate!

Thank you guys so much!!,

Ok, so the first few weeks of tour have been great! We had some awesome shows w/ Abandon Kansas, Pompeii, as well as The Rocketboys. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us, and for those of you who missed out, keep looking out for more dates later this summer!

Now onto the bad news…

Here’s the deal.  Our last show was in Austin Texas, and we had planned on driving all the way to Pensacola Florida through the night, hanging out on the beach and chillin on our 3 day break before making the trek up to our east coast leg of the tour.

At about 4 in the morning, most of us woke up to the van’s engine shaking and sputtering; almost jumping out of the van.  After a $500 tow to the nearest town with a mechanic that could take a look at it, we were told that we need an entirely NEW engine put into our van.  Not only does it cost us a HUGE amount of money, (that we can’t afford) but it’s going to take at least a week to 2 weeks before we can drive again, therefore forcing us to cancel the east coast dates of our tour.

Thanks to everyone who was planning on coming out to see us, and we apologize that we can’t be there to play.  We will DEFINITELY reschedule though, so don’t worry.

We are currently in Shreveport, Louisiana staying at a friend’s house, and could use any help/support that you can give.  We are trying to hop on a few shows here in Shreveport to raise some money to help pay for our van, so if you are in the area, come out to the show tonight!  If not, and you feel like helping us get back on our feet, there’s a donation link on our myspace page that you can use to send us a few bucks if you want.  We truly appreciate everyone’s support.

In the meantime, come say hi! we’d love to chat!

Thanks guys,

Matt, Weaver At The Loom

If you are looking for a fresh sound for your music collection, you really need to look no further than Adam Mcinnis’ release Wherever You Are. Mcinnis’ unique voice and versatile musical style make listening to this album a delight every time it comes on. Thlist of musical elements used in this album is almost to long to list. Much of the diversity in this release stems from Mcinnis’ diverse background of a being the son of a Scottish/African American/American Indian father and a Russian mother who was classically trained as a folk and opera singer. This influence, as well as the musical influences of New York, Detroit, and the 70′s rock that Adam grew up on, shaped the sound that we currently hear today. After straying away at the age of 15 when his father, an evangelist, passed away, Adam rededicated his life to the Lord at 20. His break into the music business came when he won the Score songwriting contest, sponsored by Joe Simpson. After that, Adam appeared on The One:The Making of a Star, where he had some success against more than 30,000 other contestants. Wherever You Are is a reflection of all of these themes wrapped up into one beautifully neat package.

There is no long and drawn out lead up to the message of this album. The first track, also the title track, Wherever You Are dives right into the overall theme of the entire album. Wherever is a plea for a closeness to God that all of us yearn for. This is most evident in the verse:
I wanna take this moment to say
Thank you for each and everyday
And I wanna fall down on my knees
I will beg and I will plead
Just to live , just to die
Just to be by your side

As you can see, Mcinnis’ honest songwriting styles pushes straight into the issue. One of this other things that you will notice about Adam is that his voice bears an uncanny resemblance to that of Peter Gabriel. But not so much that its a distraction to the album, mostly due to the fact that the muscial style on the album crosses the spectrum from Singer/Songewriter styled “groove” to the electronically influnced track I’m The One. At first listen, it doesnt really seem to fit in the flow of the album. But after closer consideration, I’m The One is the perfect way to close out this magnificent debut release. The song evokes an image of Christ standing and wait for you to run in his arms and find your refuge in him.
If you question the diverstiy of this album, then listen for yourself. You wont regret it. And you will have added one of the best releases of the past 2 years to your collection. Wherever You Are is a wonderfully diverse jounrey that everyone needs to take. So you need to take a journey to your local music store and pick it up……today!

For anyone who thought that hard rock group RED couldn’t top their 2006 release, End Of Silence, you are all sorely mistaken. Innocence and Instinct is as much of a musical journey as their first album. Taking elements from Dante’s Inferno as well as their own experiences from the aftermath of their widely publicised high-speed crash(which by the grace of God everyone walked away from).  The overiding theme of Innocence and Instinct is the duality of man and the fight between the good and the evil.

This theme is more evident in the track Fight Inside than in any other song on the album. The chorus states:

“And it finds me,
The fight inside is coursing through my veins
And its raging
The fight inside is breaking me again”

The same theme is carried over into Death Of Me, a schizophrenic perspective on how the battle of good and evil is fought within us. On a side note, this theme is even more apparent in the video form of the song, found at Vimeo in HD format.

Job, from the biblical book of the same name, is the inspiration behind the song Mystery of You. Job may not have understood God’s reasoning for the things that happened to him and his family, but he never stopped trying to understand the mysteries of Him. Other themes include reconciliation and the chance to start over(Can We Start Again),  and drawing close to God(Shadows). Perhaps the greatest song on the entire album is RED’s cover of the Duran Duran classic, Ordinary World. What was a great song has been made even more epic by the guys from RED.

Innocence and Instinct  has the potential to be the best album of the entire year(I know its only March). If you are a die-hard member of the RED-Nation, you must buy the Deluxe Edition that includes 4 additonal tracks, plus a DVD with the music video for Death of Me, making of video documentary, photo gallery and an expanded booklet. Regardless of which version you choose, you won’t disappointed. Innocence and Instinct has the potential to be the best album of the year.
