Chris Sligh- Running Back to You
March 17th 2008 by Abby

Delivery. A simple word, yet driven to perfection by Chris Sligh. His
vocals and humor are so incredibly 'delivered' that they are hard to
forget. I originally thought that his personal debut was on American
Idol.Even though Idol gave him the push he needed, he is no
stranger to the business. He has written, co-written and produced all the
songs on the album "Take A Chance on Something Beautiful", which was
released by his band "Half Past Forever" in 2007.

He has several albums under his belt and shows his experience through his
new album entitled, "Running Back To You" which will be released in May 2008. Chris
is not shy about his love and devotion to Christ. His debut song, "Empty
Me" was released to radio playlists in February 2008. "Empty Me" is
beautifully written and very personal as it touches on his introduction to
fame through American Idol, and yet he quickly realized it wasn't enough.
He has opened his heart through his lyrics in this album to show that his
desire is to be filled with Christ. Truly an encouragement to anyone
listening. "Empty Me" and "In A Moment" are slower paced songs but are
accompanied by a roller coaster of tunes such as "Arise Running Back" and
"Let You Know". His beautifully crisp, God-given voice is so powerful
that it will cause anyone to listen intently to the message. "In A
Moment" is a song that will be easily related to by listeners. Knowing
that life can change for the worse "in a moment" but keeping our focus on
Christ will change our night into a "brand new day". He has a unique way
of putting the shared inner-most thoughts of our hearts into song and
still remind us that "love pulls us through, in a moment".

This is not a watered-down, can't quite get the message across album.
Chris has made it very clear that he follows Christ and desires to share
that with his listeners. "Runnng Back To You", which is labeled under Brash Music,
is a sure hit! It will certainly help him to be associated with American Idol since his
humor and curly hair are unforgetable, however, I do not believe he will
need much help getting his music on constant playlists. This is an album
I will have in my personal stack
