Fair: Disappearing World

Fair is probably most known for their lead singer, Aaron Sprinkle, who is most known for his skills as a producer. His resume includes the likes of Anberlin, Demon Hunter, and Kutless, to name a few. In 2005 Fair was born and their debut album, The Best Worst-Case Scenario, was released in June of 2006. Here we are almost four years later and Fair is releasing their sophomore album, Disappearing World.
I have to be honest – when I listened to the first few minutes of the first song, “Disappearing World“, I immediately thought, “I’m not gonna dig this album”. There is somewhat of a “classic rock” feel to this album that, for me, is a bit of a turn off. As I continued to listen to the remaining tracks – the more it grew on me. I found myself humming the tunes of the organ (that’s where the “classic rock” feel comes from) that seems to find its way into several songs. Each song has a nice hook that…well…hooks you and doesn’t let go.
It was hard to pick single out a few notable tracks on this album. All 10 songs flow together nicely which makes for a enjoyable listen for all 39 minutes. Listening to this album just makes you smile. It’s not overly “happy”, but its an album that I will go nicely with a summer time drive with the windows down.
My initial thoughts about this album were way off and I’m glad I took the time to give it a second listen because now I can’t stop listening.
7.5/10.
