When I heard that the creators (David Nasser and Mac Powell) of Glory Revealed were going to do another album, I was excited because of the great praise the first album received last year.  This album is very much like the first with great lyrics that really break down scripture to help establish a bond unlike any other among a vast array of musical talent.

Many of the same artists that were on the first album are back including: Mac Powell of Third Day, Mark Hall of Casting Crowns, Trevor Morgan, Shane Lewis, Shane & Shane, Brian Littrell.  Joining them are a great new assortment of artists that make this album a contender for the Dove Award (Worship CD of the Year) and they are: Jonathan Shelton, Jason Crabb, Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE, Matt Maher, Amy Grant, Ed Cash, Geoff Moore, Natalie Grant, Laura Story, Brandon Heath, Mike Donehey of Tenth Avenue North, Aaron Shust, Sara Evans, Bethany Olds and Bethany Dillion.

A majority of this album’s artists came together in Georgia for a week long separation from the world to have fellowship with one another, open the Word of God and join together to find scripture to express what He has done in them.  This album is amazing, and it is somewhat better than the first, mostly because I feel you can sense how these artists have bonded during the time the spent together and established their unity as one in Christ.  The first album set the standard for this genre.  It set high expectations, which GR 2 surpassed both lyrically and spiritually.

My top four songs on this album are as follows:

“Psalm 23″ by Trevor Morgan and Geoff Moore.  This song is my favorite on the album.  It really hits home with me.  Trevor and Geoff do a fantastic job of expressing to us this great chapter of psalms.  It tells us how we can always be confident in God, he will never leave us or lead us astray.

“Never” by Shawn Lewis and Bethany Dillion.  (Hebrews 13:5-6) This song explains that we can not leave God, we should offer God all that we have.  We never have to be afraid of fleshly things or others, because through God’s mercy He will not let us falter.  We should continually give praise to God, sacrifice ourselves to Him and follow Him.

“To You Be the Glory” by Matt Maher and Kari Jobe. (Romans 11:33-36) This explains that We should give praise that God’s knowledge and ways are glorious in all things and that we should give him the highest Glory.

“Wake Up, oh Sleeper” by Jason Crabb, Jonathon Shelton and Bear Rinehart.  (Esphesians 5:14) This is an awesome song that tells us that we should wake up and take on your role Christ has given us to be a light in the darkness.  Let the light of Christ shine through you in all things.

I highly recommend that you buy this album today!  It will help the flame that burns inside of you burn brighter and larger for Jesus unlike before.  All of these songs are very moving and help motivate you to praise the Lord. They are well rounded songs that have a great old-time meets contemporary feel to them, as they take you back to the beginning styles of Christian music. This album is a must have with great musicians that truly love God and don’t turn away from there calling to bring their good works to the people so that they may give glory to the father as a light in the darkness.
