My second day here at GMA has been a lot like the first. Technical difficulties have been the story of the day so far. My batteries would hold a charge at all, so all of my interviews have had to be filmed on my macbook so far. Today I have had a chance to talk to the guys from Seventh Day Slumber about their new worship album. After that, it was downstairs to talk to Nathan Walters, formerly of Plus One. We talked about what he has coming in the future, including a new EP sometime this June. We also decided on a revolutionary concept for future album releases, which I will keep under wraps for the time being. I also ran into Trevor and the guys from FM Static/Thousand Foot Krutch, KJ-52, Coffee from Grits and Britt Nicole. I closed out the day with Run Kid Run and then I will be heading to the showcase the my friend John from Jesus Freak Hideout is putting on. Before that I will be checking out Crema, a local Nashville coffee shop that I have heard great things about.
If you ever get a chance to come to Nashville for GMA week, there are a few things that you need to realize. First, you are going to see a lot of artists that you know….. everywhere. Walking down the road, in hotel lobbies, at the Panera Bread. Everywhere! For me, thats part of the excitement of the week. I kinda feel like if I lose the excitement, I shouldn’t be coming anymore. Second, you are going to walk a lot. Many of the events are all in close proximity to each other. I walked a total of about 12ish blocks yesterday. Today was about the same, although I did take the opportunity to relax a little bit.
I’ve already started trying to plan some things for GMA 2010 that I am really excited about, which I will let you know about as soon as it all begins to materialize. Short, but sweet. See ya tomorrow.
