GMA Interviews:Day 3

Day 3 was probably the most hectic day of the week so far. After taking a little time for myself, doing a little shopping and such, I headed back downtown for a whirlwind media blitz with the Provident group. Basically it boiled down to 15 minute blocks with several different bands. Running it down, top to bottom, Revive, Brandon Heath (who actually Tweeted about our time together), Leeland, John Waller, and new Provident artists Tal and Acacia. The guys from Revive were really cool to talk to, especially since they are from Australia, so a lot of the things that we as Americans, and southerners, take for granted because we are around them so much, are brand new to them. And, they are living in my hometown of Atlanta, which connects us even more. Brandon talked to me about his plans for the coming year, which included going to Cambodia and touring with my next interview, Leeland. I got a chance to pick their brains about their forthcoming album, Love Is On The Move, which they are extremely excited about.

After Leeland, I spoke with John Waller, who just released his sophomore album, While I’m Waiting, on which the title track was used prominently in the recent movie, Fireproof. I closed out the media blitz with Tal and Acacia, a duo of sisters who have their debut release coming from Provident this summer. While at the blitz, I was invited to a listening party for the new release from Phil Stacey, former American Idol contestant. Before I left for the party, I stopped again at my new favorite coffee shop, CREMA. While I was there I bumped into Stephen Christian, lead singer of Anberlin. We spoke briefly, but that definitely was one of my favorite parts of the week.

Phil’s party was at a local restaurant called CABANA. It was a mix of radio, and other media, as well PLG employees and many others. We heard around 6 or 7 tracks from his upcoming album, releasing 8.25.09. I have to tell you, its going to be an excellent album and you really should pre-order it as soon as possible.

Onwards to my last day of Showcases…….
