Leeland:Love Is On The Move

For the past four years , Leeland, the worship band from Baytown, Texas, has been producing amazing worship music for world. Now, on their third studio release titled Love is on the Move, they take it a step even further, both musically and spiritually. Their two previous albums have been nominated for both Grammy and Dove awards, and this album promises to be just as successful. Consisting of  brothers Leeland Mooring (lead vocals / guitar) and Jack Mooring (keys / vocals), their cousin, Jake Holtz (bass), and Mike Smith (drums), the passion of this new album was to make it clear that there is hurting and poverty in the world and that as the body of Christ, we need to get real with Jesus and make a change in the world for what we believe in.

The album opens up with The Door, and as Jack Mooring quotes, “Jesus is The Door. He’s our access to the Kingdom of God, to heaven. This song is like an anthem for us. We can’t wait to play it live, and we really hope people yell it with us. It’s an awesome declaration.” This song is a different way to look at salvation and the fact that the door (which is Jesus) is always open for us to run to no matter what time it is or what is wrong.

My personal favorite song on this album is Pure Bride, because it reassures me in the life that I am living, to always strive to be pure/ Also it shows the world how Christians are to live, above the dirt and sin of the world as well as challenging us to live fully pure in heart, soul, mind, and body.

Love is on the Move, a challenge to love others. Some live a life where their “love” is always on the move. Others, it may be more of a conscious battle to show Christ’s love at all times. Regardless, Leeland has put together another solid album that will challenge christians, both young and old, to carry out the call that He has placed on us. Check this album out!
