P.O.D.:When Angels And Serpents Dance
| The Grammy nominated, 2 time Dove winning boys from Southtown are back in a big way with the release of When Angels & Serpents Dance. This new release is the first studio album from the band since leaving Atlantic and signing with Columbia Records in 2007. This new album also welcomes back guitarist Marcos Curiel, who left the band in 2003 and is a definite reminder of the P.O.D. that brought us The Fundamental Elements of Southtown and Satellite. It is full of both heavy (“Addicted”) and melodic (“It Can’t Rain EveryDay”) riffs as well as emotional lyrics (“Tell Me Why”) making it hard to choose a favorite song on the album. The one thing that seems to be lacking is the reggae feel that has been heard in some of their earlier work.Bottom line the best thing about Angels & Serpents is that, with Marcos on guitar, P.O.D. is P.O.D. again. They sound whole, they sound like a band that has been making music together for over 15 years. Every track reaches its full potential, and the album should be apart of everyone’s album collection.
