Shane and Shane: Everything Is Different
| The duo of Shane Everett & Shane Barnard are back in their follow up album to 2007’s “Pages“, titled Everything Is Different. Their latest released on Nov. 3rd, 2009 and features 12 new songs and 3 radio edits of Everything is Different, I’m Alive and Rain Down. The album clocks in at 66 minutes and was produced by Peter Kipley and Jason Hoard.
The album continues on the same path as their previous offerings, featuring an acoustic/worship style. The guys have a great sound and song writing ability and they do an excellent job on this album of expressing their love for Christ to their fans. This album has a nice a very intimate feeling as you can hear the sincerity of their voices as they worship the Lord. My two favorite tracks on this album are Everything is Different and My Hope is Built. Everything Is Different: This is a great song that tells of the gift of Christ, who bridged the gap between God and Man with his death for our sins. This changes our life when we accept Christ, we now have been released by the laws of sin and now can live for Christ. A upbeat song that is a wonderful start to the album. My Hope is Built: A great song that displays the Hope we can have in Christ, when in all else fails. That we can place all things within the grasp of Christ and He will guide us through the seasons of our lives. This is the first single off of the album and is based on a classic Hymn in Matthew. • Other Notables: I’m Alive, For the Good and Turn Down the Music. In conclusion, this album is will be a great addition to your collection. The guys from Shane & Shane have done a good incorporating a acoustic/live feel with this new album and it works well with their vocal style. The mold hasn’t been exactly been broken in regards to a new sound or pushing their abilities, but it does help them display their love for Christ and should help their fans and newcomers move closer to Him. 7.5/10 |
